Neopolitan Cake

My little angel, Kimbree turned 1!
Look at this little cutie, she needed a fun cake...

I had this image in my head of a cake bigger than her.
I made her a four tiered neopolitan cake, it was massive!!

I was torn between a modern design and a vintage design,
this was the compromise.

And the birthday girl loved it, mission accomplished.

Happy Birthday Baby Cakes!!!

Every Super Bowl NEEDS a Cake

You know I had to make a Super Bowl Cake...

...it was too good a chance to pass up.

My husband, who is a huge football fan and happens to be an extremely talented artist, wanted to collaborate with me.

I love what we came up with...

 Signed by US!!!

It looked like you could actually pick it up and throw it, so fun!

Valentine Mystery Dinner!!

If you've never had a Mystery Dinner before, the names of all the menu items (utensils, too!) have been changed to silly Valentine-inspired names. Everyone gets a menu, writes what they want for each course, then they get served a mixed-up dinner. The kids loved it!

Here's what you need:

Puppy Love (Crush soda)

Cupid’s Arrow (toothpick or wooden skewer)

Love Trouble (jam)

Rising Love (roll or biscuit)

Melted Hearts (pasta sauce)

Angel’s Coiffure (cooked angel hair pasta)

Kissing and Hugging (spoon)

Girls Best Friend (Carrots...get it? "karats"...)

Persuader (fork)

Cold Shoulder (Ice Cream Sundae)

Heart Breaker (knife)

Snuggles (napkin)

Lots o’ Pick-up Lines (shredded cheese)

Wish I could take credit, but actually I got this idea from a my friend!!!
I love her blog.
All the downloads (for the menu cover and menu inside) are linked on her blog

She has great ideas for all occasions!!

Hot Chocolate kind of day???

So, it's beautiful in Northern Colorado right now!! Sunny, warm....not a spec of snow.

Which makes me wonder why I have this major craving to sit in front of a fire with my mug of hot chocolate while the snow falls outside...

Knowing Colorado, I'll get another chance this year.

In case it's beautiful and white where you are or if your like me and want to 'fake it' anyway,
here is a fantastic recipe for homemade hot chocolate!

1 (1lb 10oz pkg.) Nonfat Dry Milk
4 cups powdered sugar
2 (8oz jars) Non Dairy Creamer
1 (11oz jar) Non Dairy Creamer, French Vanilla
1lb pkg. Chocolate Milk Mix

1/2 tsp salt

Mix all powder ingredients.  You'll want a LARGE container to store the extra hot chocolate mix in.
Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon....sit by the fire and enjoy!  At least that's what I'll be doing.

Well...life happened....

I haven't abandoned my blog!  Unfortunately, life happened...4 sick kids, too many snow days to count, a broken computer with Cake and How 2 pics on it. What's the saying? "When it rains it pours", lol.  Well, it poured.  Fortunately it has all been minor, but for the
Sugar Mamma Cake Blog it's meant some delays.
These are the posts I've been dying to get up! Computer with my pics will be up and running this next week.  Here's what to look forward to...

-My little Kimbree's 1 year old Neopolitan Cake!!
This fun cake is 4 teirs and is as tall as her.

-SUPER BOWL cake!

-Our Valentine's Day 'Mixed Up Dinner'
A menu in the language of Amore' leaves your guests having to guess what things like Cupids Arrow, Puppy Love, and Cold Shoulder mean in english in order to get their Valentine's Day Dinner!!

-Sexy Valentine's Day Cakes
I had a couple last minute cake order's from husbands that wanted gourmet sexy heart cakes for their wives....when you see these, you'll want to replace your typical box of chocolates with one of these sexy cakes!
